Hi, just installed the pro plugin on my wordpress site.
I am using wp members to create a password protected area.
I also have a page where I give local prices for a product.
As I have three different price zones, I want to redirect the user to his specific price page after login.
So, for example user A should be redirected to page PRICE-A afetr login and user B to PRICE-B after login and so on.

My idea is to use the redirect after login function of this plugin together with the role of each user. thise means a user that has role A is redirected to Price-A and so on.

Furthermore I want the menu to show only the pages I intent to be visible for role A to user with role A and so on.

So, your plugin sounds great.

PROBLEM 1:
After installation the plugin does not work as intended.
I created the user roles and set the redirect after plugin for each user role. But, the redirect does not work.
It mentions: Menu walker class is overriden by a theme/plugin. Current value = Walker_Nav_Menu_Edit_Mfn. Navigation menu permissions may still work.” above the WPFront User Role Editor Settings.

Does your plugin have problems with WP Members Plugin or the Betheme template?

PROBLEM 2
Also, the Navigation menu permissions functionality does not work as the extra fields within each menu item edit box do not show at all.

what to do?

Hi Kuhnle,

This usually happens because of plugin/theme conflicts.

1. Login redirect not working.
How does the users login to your site? Do you have a separate login screen or do they use wp-login.php? Can you try the login through wp-login.php and see if the redirect works.

2. Navigation menu fields missing with warning.
If you click more information within the warning, it will take you to the documentation which explains how to work around it.

https://wpfront.com/user-role-editor-pro/navigation-menu-permissions/

Take a look into the last section within the documentation.

You basically need to identify from where the conflict is coming. It could be a plugin or your theme. Disable all plugins except the User Role Editor Pro. Check if the warning still exists. If it is, then it is coming from your theme. Change the theme to a different theme and make sure you don’t see the warning. If you don’t see the warning, then you should see the fields in navigation menu. Set your permissions the way you want, after that you can change your theme back to the original and activate all plugins. You won’t see the fields after that, but your permissions will still work.

Thanks

Syam

Dear Syam,

Thanks for your reply.

unfortunately the toipic was closed, so i am contcting you via email directly.

the hints you gave to solve the problem do not work for my website.

I deactivated all plugins, but the extra fields in the menu design do not show.

Also, it seems that my theme is using wp members for the login procedure and wp members seems to use the wp-login.php.
So this should be ok, but the forwarding does not work…

What can be done?

Regards

Nick

Hi Nick,

Sorry about that, topics get closed after one week of inactivity. I have reopened it.

Have you tried with changing your theme too?

Can you trying loging in using wp-login.php after deactivating wp-members to see if the login redirect works?

If you can give me access to your site, I’ll take a look.

Thanks
