Have the Roles pretty much set to the way I want, with one Role being able to create user’s and assign them to certain roles.
Is there a way to restrict the Role that can create user’s from being able to modify any user in the ‘Administrator’ role?
A client is in a situation, where in the past, there was a falling out with the partners, and one of the partners was able to close down the entire site, and tie everything up in litigation for ages. What they would like to do is to have an administrator of the website, who can’t be locked out, but just ensure the plugins/themes etc are updated as needed, but doesn’t want to burden them with having to create users as needed.

I’ve had a look at the User Level Permissions.
The thing is, for the particular role, they have the following checked:-
- list_users
- create_users
- edit_users
- promote_users
- add_users
- remove_users
- promote_users_to_higher_level
I thought, from reading it was the promote_users being checked, but removed this from the role, but the user attached to the role was able to update the primary role of the user within the Administrator role.
Any ideas?

User Level Permissions works based on the ‘level_’ capabilities. Do you have them configured?
