I was using the free version of User Role Editor on a dev site. After the site was moved to production I bought the pro version. When I try to activate the license, it says Invalid and gives the URL for the dev site (a sub-directory of the production site) which does not exist anymore. I have tried deactivating the site in the license settings and putting it in again but it doesn’t help.
The free version of the plugin has been completely removed. I have done a search and replace on the database to insure the old /dev/ URL is nowhere in the database.
Also, every time I try to activate the license key, I get a 500 server error. I have to reload the page to submit the key again and that’s when I get the Invalid License error.
Hi Joel,
Can you attach a screenshot of the error you are receiving? Also you should have an error logged against the 500 error you are receiving, can you paste that here too.
Thanks
Syam
I don’t see a way to attach an image to the forum post. Here is the screenshot: http://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/1270310/36c7811310df289bdd1d1354cded964e
There are no server errors being thrown.
I have tried that. I just tried it again and still have the same issue.
I just deleted the Pro plugin and reinstalled it. Same issue. I really want to use this plugin as it does exactly what I need but I’m ready to give up on it.
I got it working. I found that the “home” option in the wp_options table was incorrectly set. I don’t know why or how it got set incorrectly but I was able to verify the license once it was corrected.
Hi Joel,
I’m glad that you got it figured.
Thanks
Syam
