I’m glad that you got it resolved.
Usually browsers gives you a feedback when a file is downloaded. Also browsers lock the access to local files, because of security reasons. Even if I displayed a success message, user could still be confused since there was no feedback from the browser.
Those capabilities are created by WPFront and is only effective when the PRO plugin is active. For Administrator role, all those capabilities are supposed to be checked. Its probably because of a bug in the upgrade process from Free to Pro. I’ll add an item to by bug list with low priority, since there is a workaround.
I don’t know about the comments issue. This plugin doesn’t attach anything to the comments functionality yet. Its probably coming from a different plugin.
I do not allow anyone to upload anything for security reasons. My WordPress directory is read only to the server and I like to keep it that way. You can upload your images to a public image hosting sites like ‘imgur’ or to ‘dropbox/google drive’ and paste the link here or put in an ‘img’ tag.
