    Hi there,
We keep having the “pages” show up for a user.

We have a CPT called Loans that we are allowing the user to edit only.
I have the following settings enabled:

    Settings/
    Display Deprecated Capabilities
    Override Edit Permissions
    Disable Navigation Menu Permissions
    Override Navigation Menu Permissions
Customize Permissions (custom post types) – Field Groups
Disable Extended Permissions (post types) – Field Groups

    Capabilities:
    Dashboard – Read
    Post – edit published posts
Field groups ACF field Group – (all enabled)
CPT LOANS – edit plublished pages

It seems the “pages” – “edit published pages” keeps being marked as enabled even after disabling and saving.

    Hi Tania,

Its because the ‘CPT LOANS’ uses the same capability ‘edit_published_pages’. So if you enable it for that CPT, it will be enabled for Pages too.

Is this giving you any issues?

    Thanks

    Syam

    Hi Tania,

I understand what you are saying. What I meant was, to remove ‘edit_published_pages’ capability, you will have to remove it from both Pages and Loans. Because both settings are referencing the same capability from two different post types.

    Thanks

    Syam

    Hi Tania,

Sorry, I don’t think I understand your issue. I thought you wanted to remove the ‘edit_published_pages’ capability. Am I missing something?

    Thanks

    Syam
