Hi,
I’m setting up a multi author site in which I want to permit authors to only see the media files they themselfes uploaded. To get this done, I am using “View own posts and media library items only” by Vladimir Garagulya and User Role Editor Pro (UREPro). While this setup is working well on the site as such, if the author access the site trough the WordPress APP for Smartphones or the Windows App.
This may be because – as far as I understand – WordPress has no built in capability to handle media library permissions.
Is there a way for me to either limit access to the authro’s own media files or to completely block the WP-Apps from being used on my site?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi Manfred,
Please check the media permissions documentation and see whether you are looking for that functionality or a different one.
Thanks
Syam
Hi Syam,
thanks for your reply.
I’ve set used the following settings in your plugin:
[X] upload_files
[X] unfiltered_upload
[X] edit_attachements
[X] delete_attachments
[ ] read_others_attachments
[ ] edit_others_attachments
[ ] delete_others_attachments
[X] = enabled
[ ] = disabled
Please note, that the settings are not working for the ANDROID APP of WordPress, (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.wordpress.android) altough they work on the site when accessed through IE, Mozilla Firefox or Chrome.
Thanks again,
Hi Manfred,
Its probably because the app doesn’t support the same actions and filters the WordPress core supports. Can you take this question to the app support?
Thanks
Syam
