We have created a custom User Role and turned off access to Gravity Forms. The Menu Editor also has the Forms option unchecked (however, there’s no way to uncheck the sub-items). The Forms option is no longer available in the left navigation menu, but, the “Form” option is still accessible in the “New” menu in the Dashboard. Is there any way to disable this option or at the very least restrict access to the Forms section?

    Hello,

Right now there is no option to remove it from the Admin bar. You can do “Hard Override” in menu editor, which will stop their access to the URL. Even though they will be able to click on the admin bar link, they will get an access denied message.

    Thanks

    Hi Syam,

Thank you for the suggestion, however, the menu editor does not give us the option to uncheck any of the gravtiy forms options. They are all greyed out. The main Forms1 option is unchecked, but all of the gform_* / gf_* are checked. Is there any other way around this?

    Thank you,

    Eric

    Hi Eric,

I’m not exactly sure how Gravity Forms work. Can you share a screenshot of menu editor, I just want to see the capabilities.

Its greyed out because the role doesn’t have the menu’s capability. But the menu is still accessible for the user, which doesn’t make sense, unless Gravity Forms changes the capabilities dynamically.

    Thanks

It looks like all of the menus are using ‘gform_full_access’ capability, which doesn’t make sense.

Can you do the following test for me?

    1. Assign the menu editor capability to the role you are trying to edit. For example, if you are trying to edit menu for role ABC, assign the menu editing capability to role ABC.
    2. Login as a user whose role is ABC.
    3. Try to edit menu for role ABC, now check the capabilities. Can you share a screenshot again?

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks

    Syam
