I discovered a major issue on our development site. I can’t add a new user while the plugin is active, but the license is inactive. I assume the same would happen if the license expired.

on: /wp-admin/user-new.php the “Add New User” doesn’t even appear.

    Two issues with this,
#1 a single license needs to support working on a development site in addition to live.
#2 I presume when my license expires in 363 days this breakage will render the plugin unusable, not just drop support and updates.

    Hi Jon,

I’m able to reproduce this issue, I’ll release a fix very soon. Sorry about that.

    Other two issues.
    1. “Single site license” only supports one site, if you also want it on development sites, you can upgrade to next tier.

    2. Plugin will continue working as usual even after license expiry. The only difference is it won’t receive updates. So you won’t have this issue after expiration.

    Thanks

    Hi Jon,

I haven’t released a fix for it yet, since it doesn’t seem like a high priority bug. But if its something that bothers you in your site, I can send you a custom version. Do you want me to send one to you?

    Thanks

Great… just broke another site on launch… when the url changed from dev to live.

All I get it “Your WPFront User Role Editor Personal Pro license is invalid.”

Which is extra annoying since I just upgraded to a 5 site license and this is site #2 with not way to fix it.

You licensing system is junk. I’m seconds from requesting a refund because of it.

Instead, I’m just disabling you licensing… and I’d feel bad if I disabled it and requested a refund.

I have no problem with a dozen other plugins that use EDD licensing… your’s is a constant frustration.

    Hi Jon,

Sorry about that. When you change your site URL or clone/copy your site, you just need to register(deactivate then reactivate) the license again. That way the new URL will get added to your list of registered sites.

I’m trying to make this as an automatic process in the background.

    Sorry again,

    Syam

    Hi Jon,

Sorry, this isn’t fixed yet. This plugin is undergoing major changes right now and it will be fixed as part of the next major version, very soon I’ll be releasing a beta version. Since this issue only happens when the license is not activated, I moved this into the backlog.

But if you really need a fix now, I can send you a custom version.

    Thanks

    I was afraid of that.

This bug crashes sites, it’s not trivial just because only when the license is deactivated. The license being deactivated happens _a lot_ for developers using local and staging installs.

It’s literally been a year… Really wish I hadn’t renewed but was afraid my sites would crash if I didn’t.

    Hi Jon,

I’m not sure whether we are talking about the same issue here. I thought this prevents the ‘Add New User’ button from appearing, making it impossible to add a user. I didn’t know that it crashes your site.

You still can add four more sites to your activated list. Can’t you add your staging and development sites to the list? If you can send me the list, I’ll add these for you.

I’m very sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your renewal. Renewals are not covered under refund policy. But I’ll make an exception in your case and refund you the renewal payment. Do you still plan to use the license after the refund? Because refunding will revoke your license key. I’ll have to manually update your license key status.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks

    Syam
