I have a site with multiple custom post types defined. I am trying to create a role that can edit pages, but not any of the custom post types.

When I change the permission on the Pages, it applies that to all of the custom post types.

Is it possible to give some set of permissions to pages, but no permissions on the custom post types?

I thought I understood the limitation to be that you could not add permissions to posts without those being applied to CPTs, but we are seeing it on pages, not posts.

    thanks,

    Hi Derek,

Do you see a separate metabox for your CPT within the Add/Edit Role screen?

    Custom Post Type Permissions

    Thanks

    Hi Derek,

From the screenshot, you can see that those CPTs uses the page capabilities. Its because the developer of that CPT plugin choose to do so. Its best to contact the other plugin developer and ask him/her, is there anyway to change those capabilities.

    Thanks

Thanks. We’ll try that. Did not know you could set up CPTs as a page vs a post. Thank you.
