Hi,
I want that logged users can see privat posts, so I set the checkbox “read_privat posts” but the users cant see the posts.
Can you tell me where my mistakte is?

My tests shows that “read_private_posts” is the only capability required to read private posts. Are you trying to configure the built-in “Posts” or is this a custom post type?

I try to set up a event plugin. But in the user permission it shows up like the post option so I set “read_private_events” but for logged users but they dont show up. They only show up with the admin account.
Hi Daniela,
It is a custom post type. It is not necessary for a custom post type to work the same way the built-in post types, even though it is the recommended way. It depends on how the plugin developer has coded it. Is it possible for you to contact the developer of the events plugin and ask him/her, what all capabilities are required to read private events?

I already asked him and he told me I should do it like with the post types. So I did but it dont work. So I thought you can help me?
Hi Daniela,
Only ‘Administrator’ and ‘Editor’ has access to private events created by other users and this is hard coded within that plugin. This is not the WordPress recommended way but the plugin developer choose to do it that way and it cannot be overridden from my plugin.
