Hello,
I am having an issue where only Admins can see events using The Events Calendar, custom roles cannot. I’ve started by placing the site in 2013 theme and uninstalling all plugins and reactivating one by one. The User Roles, for some reason, prevents users from seeing the events page. Any ideas?
Hi Jody,
I tested with that plugin installed and I was able to see events on the calendar. User was in Subscriber role. Also tested with a custom role with no capability.
The only way I was able to remove the event from the calendar was using Role Permissions (Extended Permissions).
Do you have Role Permissions enabled?
Thanks
Syam
I’m not sure, where is that? “Edit Role”? with the screen with all the checkboxes?
In the event I’ve screwed up something, is there a way to reset so I get the same results you’ve gotten?
sorry for the additional follow-ups. . . the “events” page is not accessible through Pages>All Pages>; it is only administered through The Events Calendar settings. So I do not have access to restrict the page via the Extended Roles check boxes.
Hi Jody,
You will be able to restrict the events using Role Permissions. Try to edit an event and you will be able to see the check boxes.
Thanks
Syam
Hi Syam, thanks for responding quickly, so my problem is that EVERYONE should be able to see this content, there are no restrictions set on the roles or individual events but nobody, except me (admin) can!
Hello syam, I found another plugin that when deactivated, caused yours to work, must be a conflict somewhere, thanks for your help and suggestions!
Hi Jody,
Can you give me the name of that plugin, I’ll take a look.
Thanks
Syam
I made a mistake, I deactivated AG Custom Admin and the events showed up, double checked before this post to you and the events were hidden, so perhaps it was a browser cache issue. So back to the drawing board.
The free version of the plugin does not have the same effect as the Personal Pro version, at least on my installation. If that helps you troubleshoot, or not, I’m not sure but wanted to to tell you that.
Hi Jody,
So I tested with the “AG Custom Admin” plugin, but it still worked fine. I guess it’s something specific to your setup.
Thanks
Syam
