    I’m using WP Front to create a custom role with some limited capabilities in terms of publishing and editing live content. I was hoping to use the author select dropdown to assign people in this custom role to specific posts (and custom post types) that they will work on. But, the people within the custom role are not showing up in my author selector. This WP Stack Exchange post seems to be about the same thing. Is this really a WP core bug?

    Hi Erik,

    Did you try enabling ‘level_1’ capability for your custom role as said in the post? Make sure to enable ‘Deprecated Capabilities’ in settings if you can’t see it.

    That worked! Needed to enable deprecated capabilities.
