I’m having trouble opening the product category and the product tags with the ‘Shopmanager’ role i created or any other role.
I already tried checking every capability in the role editor and checking every menu item in the menu editor but when clicking the menutab i get redirected to a page that says:
You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.
Only way to access those menutabs is by ‘soft’ override type. But since i want a ‘hard’ override type i’m looking for a solution.
Thanks in advanced!

The user you are testing with, does he/she has any role other than Shop Manager?
Thanks
Syam
January 27, 2016 at 2:30 am #22897Mike van der MeijSpectatorThank you for your reply.
The user only uses the Shopmanager role and does not have any secondairy role.
The role gives full acces to the following items:
– Dashboard
– Posts
– Comments
– Pages
– Media
– Woocommerce
– Wp statisticsIt has the possibility to add, adjust and delete a page/post/comment/product and do so without any hassles. All other capability’s work just fine..
With the current configuration it’s possible to acces the post categories/tags, but unfortunately not the product categories/tags. The role can add products and features just fine but no category’s or tags.
Thanks again!

If you look into the menu editor page, you will be able to find the capabilities used by product categories/tags menus. Can you verify that those capabilities are enabled for Shop Manager.
Thanks
Syam

Yes at the moment i enabled all capabilities on the ‘Menu editor’ page and on the ‘Edit role’ page. There is no more option for me to enable.
Everything is active and working except the woocommerce product category/tags..
Thanks in advanced!

If all capabilities are enabled, can you do a “Restore default” within the menu editor for Shop Manager. That option is available in the “Copy from” drop down.
Thanks
Syam
January 28, 2016 at 4:18 pm #23064Mike van der MeijSpectatorI did the ‘Restore default’ and it worked. It set the override type to ‘hard’ and it’s still working! Thanks.
After some searching the differents i noticed the ‘Hide New Menus’ is disabled (not checked). When setting it to enabled the problem starts again and i can’t acces the product category / tags pages.
So for now i won’t use the Hide New Menus to continue but maybe you can explain to me why this function is bugging the product category/tag pages.
Thanks Syam!

‘Hide New Menus’ is supposed to affect menus which do not exists at the time of configuration. No one had reported any bugs on it so far. If you can give me access to your site, I’ll take a look.
Thanks

There seems to be some kind of bug. Would you mind telling me how can I create that ‘Products’ menu so that I can test and debug it in my local dev environment. Does that menu come through a plugin or theme?
Thanks

February 2, 2016 at 1:03 pm #23458Mike van der MeijSpectatorHello Syam,
Thank you for looking! It’s automatic produced by the Woocommerce Plugin (I renamed the menu name).
You stil need the useraccount on my website or can i delete it??
If there is anything else, let me know!
Thanks!
