Hi – we’ve created a custom role for “Manager” that grants user capabilities: list, create, edit, delete, add remove.
The role works on single-site installs but does not work on multi-site. I can send the xml file if you’d like to inspect it.September 16, 2015 at 6:05 pm #16165
What exactly does it mean by “does not work on multi-site”? You don’t see anything related to users for this role?

Hi Syam – the “Manager” can see list and remove.
Manager cannot create, edit or add remove.September 17, 2015 at 6:25 am #16186
For individual site admins to create users in multisite, you need to enable it in Network Settings.
That setting has the following description.
“Allow site administrators to add new users to their site via the “Users → Add New” page.”
Can you try after enabling this setting?

Hi – I just enabled that setting. Manager still cannot create, edit or add remove.September 17, 2015 at 7:03 am #16189
Can you give me access to your site?
SyamSeptember 17, 2015 at 7:06 am #16190
Hi – we require a non-disclosure-agreement for me to create an account for you. Would a quick screenshare work?
If yes, I’ll send a link and phone number to call.September 17, 2015 at 7:09 am #16191
Phone call will be difficult.
Give me an export of your role, I’ll try to test it in my dev site.

Here are my findings. Your role is able to do the following.
1. Add New User – Is allowed once you enable the network setting.
2. Edit User – Only Super Admins are allowed to edit users in a network.
3. Delete User – User cannot be deleted from a single site. User must be deleted from the network dashboard. You will be able to “Remove User” from your single site.
4. Assign Roles – You can change the roles as long as you have the capabilities.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Syam. Edit is the most important — so the super admin will need to do it for the person designated as Manager.
Thanks for your time.September 18, 2015 at 9:28 am #16247
It is hard coded within the core, there is no way to work around it. Since updating a user, updates his/her data in all sites within the network, Super Admin is required.
