Hi
Upgrading to V3 of this plugin has been a time consuming experience.
After the upgrade all of my pages were displaying a 404 error which can only be fixed by enabling the role permission (read_others_) which requires downtime on my website serving 4K students, staff and faculty.
I now have to go through all of my posts to see if the correct permissions are applied and then login as multiple users to doublecheck that they can see what they are meant to see. It is going to take hours of my time.
It is a waste of my time.Versions of this plugin before V3 were successful because upgrades were silent and the permissions interface on post and pages was easy to use for all users (novice and expert alike). The new interface for V3 has complicated the process or applying permissions and will put novice users off.
If something works don’t break it.Some questions on V3 to help me get onboard:
In the Role Permission area of a page of post…
1. Login is required
What does Inherit mean in this instance? Where is this setting inherited from?2. Role Permission
What does Inherited mean in this instance? Where is a role inherited from?
Are you referring to a hierarchy in WordPress roles?3. What is purpose if the [Guest user] role?
4. What is the purpose of the [New Roles] role?
5. Can you explain what the purpose of Extended Permissions screen is for under Dashbaord > roles>Settings
6. Can you explain what ‘Convert Extended Permissions to User Post Permissions’ does?
I really loved this plugin (I even promoted it at a US WP conference), but V3 is making me not love it anymore.

Sorry about the issues.
Please upgrade to version 3.2.0-RC1. After that make sure that,
1. All “read_others_” capabilities is checked/enabled for all roles.
2. “Extended Permissions Precedence Type” under “Roles > Settings” is set to “Allow”.After these steps everything will work fine.
Please read the following documentation.

Thanks,
