Plugin update will overwrite any code change you made. At this point there is no way other than not letting the plugin update.

This functionality is something I have in my list. Until then you will be able to use the bulk edit option to update all posts against a post type. The next version(will be released this week or the next) has bulk edit option to update just a single role.

Hi David,

Extended permissions doesn’t limit the user from accessing the attachments uploaded to a post/page. This plugin does have ‘Media File Permissions’, as you have already seen, however it doesn’t limit anyone from accessing that resource directly by typing the URL to that attachment. That functionality requires URL rewrite, and has nothing to do with WordPress. Its a web server feature and will have to be implemented separately against each server type. Apache, Nginx, etc. So its not as straight forward as limiting posts or pages. I do have a to do item for this feature, but its feasibility needs to be tested. ‘Media File Permissions’ is more useful in the backend, like if you don’t want users to edit or delete other users attachments/files.

Hi David,

You will be able to disable the Admin Bar using the Login Redirect feature.

If you want to remove just an item under the ‘+New’ option, you just need to remove the corresponding capability from the role. For example to remove ‘Post’ option, you need to remove capability ‘edit_posts’. Hope this helps.

Hi Dave,

I can’t provide an ETA at this moment, since there are lots of features and functionalities pending. Also there are some practical issue with this particular feature like, the menu, role and capability doesn’t need to exist in all network sites. So this feature needs to be prototyped and thoroughly tested first. And a complete redesign of the menu editor is in the feature list, this functionality will most probably be implemented after that.

This plugin uses mostly WordPress CSS classes and is not updated to the latest WP version CSS names. Is it possible that this theme missing old WP version CSS class names? If you can give me access to your site, I’ll be able to take a look.
